Abstract:

Doubleshield TBMs have been successfully applied in many works both in China and foreign countries. However, some problems have occurred in some works, which causes that the construction of the works can not be executed according to the plan. In the paper, the application of doubleshield TBMs in China is presented, the problems occurring during construction are analyzed and it is proposed, on basis of engineering practice, that equipment purchasing, project planning, construction organization management and construction technology management should be taken as the control points of longdistance tunnel construction by means of doubleshield TBMs and corresponding works cases are provided. Expatiation is made on how to do a good job for the details in the longdistance tunnel construction by means of doubleshield TBMs. Personal opinions are made on the development trend of doubleshield TBMs and countermeasures are suggested for the problems occurring during the longdistance tunnel construction by means of doubleshield TBMs.
