Abstract:

Taking Qianwan sub-sea tunnel in Shenzhen as an example, the article presents the construction principles and construction methods of a subsea tunnel by means of slurry shield machine, including the basic construction procedures and the construction management criteria. The article places its emphasis on the description of the preparation works for the launching of the shield machine, items which special attention should be paid to during trial boring and the control of various parameters of normal boring.
