On basis of introducing the mechanisms of the pressure prestressed anchoring cables, the authors, taking case history as example, expatiate on the design and construction technology of pressure prestressed anchoring cables in detail. The practice proves that the design of the anchoring cables of the case history is reasonable, the construction of the anchoring cables is successful and the works is safe and reliable. By means of pressure prestressed anchoring cables, which are a kind of advanced technology, the problem of reinforcement of underground caverns with high side walls has been successfully solved.
