The article analyses the function requirement for the thrust system of the shield machine that should be satisfied in the design and makes a detailed calculation of the designed thrust force of the shield machine. On basis of the structures and dimensions of the shield machine, the article determines the specifications, parameters, dimensions and number of the thrust cylinders.
