摘要: Energy saving is an important issue in the management of a tunnel, especially for a long tunnel, in operation. And it can be pursued by properly integrating natural ventilation in the tunnel ventilation design. In this study, a numerical model was developed for the simulation of natural and mechanical ventilation effect for a long tunnel. As the piston effect is comparatively less significant for a long road tunnel, natural and mechanical ventilation becomes important and could be beneficially considered and applied in ventilation design. A ventilation network analysis model is developed, insitu testing data were used for calibration, and the calibrated numerical model was used to predict the distribution of airflow for different tunnel conditions including the emergency ventilation situations. The results of the case study show that, natural ventilation effect could provide about 10% of the ventilation required. It can be integrated in the ventilation design of a long road tunnel for the regular traffic as well as the emergency conditions.
