Abstract:

The tunnel boring across underneath the tracks of highspeed railways by shield machines is presented in the paper, with the emphasis being placed on the works conditions, construction difficulties and countermeasure taken in respect of manpower, materials, equipment, boring parameter design and monitoring. The results demonstrate that, with the mentioned countermeasures, the surface subsidence has been effectively controlled and the safety of the railway has been guaranteed.
