Application of Freezing Method in Recovery of Rivercrossing Tunnel

Abstract:

The application of the freezing method in the recovery of the shieldbored Yangtze River crossing tunnel in Wuhan on Sichuan Gas East Transmission Pipeline project is presented. During the freezing, the temperatures of the brine water, frozen soil and the water levels in the hydrological holes are monitored and the variation rules of the brine water temperatures, the frozen soil temperatures and the water levels in the hydrological holes are obtained. Finally, recommendations are made for the freezing construction of the tunnel on basis of the study results.
