Abstract:

The mechanical properties of the freezingthawing damaged concrete bending components of tunnel strengthened by carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) are studied. The bending tests are carried out and the repairing effects of tunnel by using CFRP sheet are analyzed. The testing results show that: 1) The bending capacity and ductility performance of damaged components can be improved by using CFRP, especially by using fullcovered mode. 2) The bending capacity of damaged components decreases and the lifting speed of neutral axis increases with the freezingthawing cycle increases. 3) The formula for bending capacity of damaged components is obtained by theoretical calculation; and simulation is carried out by ABAQUS finite element software. The calculated results and simulated results coincide with testing results well.
