Abstract: To explore the shear resistance of the "flat joint + quick connector" type segment circumferential joints, indoor tests are designed on shear resistance of segment circumferential joints under various longitudinal forces. The shear resistance mechanism of such segment circumferential joints are analyzes via test results and loaddislocation curves, obtaining the influence patterns of longitudinal force on the shear resistance of circumferential joints and the shear stiffness and the bearing capacity of the circumferential joints at the same stage. Conclusions are drawan as follows: (1) The quick connectors of the recommended circumferential joints can effectively control the dislocations, which is superior to convational "flat joint + nclined/curved bolt" type segment circumferential joints. (2) The shear resisitance of circumferential joints is far lager in elastic stage than plastic stage, thus it is recommended to control the dislocation within 5.51 mm to guarantee the resistance of circumferential joints.
