Dynamic Control Technology for Building Settlement Caused by
Construction of Shallowburied and Largespanned Urban Tunnels

Abstract:

Wucunshan tunnel on Air Port Road in Xiamen has shallow cover depth, large span and poor geological conditions. The tunnel runs underneath existing buildings. The authors present the dynamic settlement control technology adopted for the buildings during the tunnel construction. Realtime tracing monitoring, waterproofing curtain, ground reinforcement grouting and dynamic raising grouting are executed, which effectively brings the settlement of the buildings under control and ensures the safety of the tunnel construction.
