Abstract:

 The diseases of center pillars of large span doublearched tunnels and their generation mechanisms are analyzed in this paper. The design optimization, support scheme and waterproofing and drainage system of center pillars are studied by means of project comparison and structure analysis. The construction technology and methods to effectively prevent center pillar diseases are summarized and verified in engineering practices. This paper may provide reference for similar projects in the future.
