The market of electricaldriven hydraulic excavators in China and abroad is presented. The economical efficiency of electricaldriven hydraulic excavator modified from a dieseldriven hydraulic excavator by Juke Holding Group is described. The difficulties and opportunities of electricaldriven hydraulic excavators in tunnel excavation are discussed. Suggestions are made on the popularization of electricaldriven hydraulic excavators in tunneling. The paper can provide reference for the development of medium or small electricaldriven hydraulic excavators in the future. 
