West Qinling tunnel on LanzhouChongqing railway is the longest railway tunnel in China excavated by TBM. The works has tight construction schedule and huge energy/material consumption requirement. During the construction of the tunnel, the management system is strengthened, measures to reduce the energy requirement, the material requirement, the water requirement and the land requirement are taken, environment protection measures are adopted, and energysaving measures based on scientific innovations are taken. In the end, good effects have been achieved.
