Abstract

Shieldbored tunnel in urban areas sometimes has to cross underneath existing buildings and underground pipelines.Technologies, including shield machine modification,soil improvement,tunneling parameter control,using newtype of backfilling materials and treatments after construction are used in the tunneling of Lovat L251 shield machine of Beijing Metro line 10. Successful underneath crossing buildings are guaranteed.The paper can provide references for similar projects in the future.
