The jam releasing technologies for earth pressure balance (EPB) shield in shield receiving shaft applied to Tianjin Metro Line No.3 are introduced. The jam releasing technologies include drag reduction hole drilling after chamber opening under atmospheric pressure, thrusting force increaing by setting external pump station and cylinder and using separating jam releasing method. The advantages and disadvantages of abovementioned technologies and their applicable fields are analyzed. Good effects have been achieved. The results can provide reference for jam releasing of shield of similar projects in the future.
