Small crosssection slurry shield machines are suitable for tunnels in soft strata with rich water, especially suitable for rivercrossing tunnels, sea crossing tunnels and urban utilities tunnels. Yunjin Road Cable Tunnel crosses underneath the newlybuilt Yunjin Road. The buildings and utility lines near the cable tunnel increase the construction risks. In order to minimize the influence of the cable tunnel construction on the nearby buildings and facilities, the author analyzes the trial boring technology, slurry mixing ratio, boring parameters and control of muck disposal and boring direction.
