The calculation of curves is inevitably encountered in the design and construction of railways, highways, mass rapid transit systems and water delivery projects. Due to the wide application of infrared distance meters and total stations, coordinate method is widely used in the layout of curves. When calculators are used in the coordinate calculations, the working efficacy is low and it is subject to make mistakes. However, if the software of EXCEL is used, the working efficiency will be greatly improved and the mistakes will be eliminated. In connection with the engineering practice, the article describes the calculation method.
