Complete and detailed geology exploration by means of borehole drilling in the job site is one of the necessary and effective measures taken during the construction of municipal underground works. During the construction of river/sea crossing tunnels, nonstandard geology exploration may cause lots of hidden troubles to tunnel construction or tunnel structures. In connection with engineering practice, the article describes the harm on the tunnel construction induced by geology exploring borehole drilling in water, which can provide reference for similar works.
