Abstract:
The passenger transfer modes of underground Metro stations are summarized as follows: 1) parallel transfer modes, including dualisland fourtrack transfer mode and verticaldirection island transfer mode; 2) cross transfer modes, including “+”shaped transfer mode, “T”shaped transfer mode, “L”shaped transfer mode and passage transfer mode; 3) combined transfer mode. The functions, passenger organizations, construction difficulty degrees, comprehensive investment, operation safety and social significance, as well as case histories, of each transfer mode mentioned above are presented. The key points in the passenger transfer mode selection and design of underground Metro stations are proposed and some advices are made on the operation safety and transfer design of future Metro works.
