Abstract:

The Double Shield Universal Compact TBM (DSUC TBM) has been developed to substitute Open Type TBM in their typical filed of application. It offers many of the same advantages of traditional Double Shield TBM but with a simpler and easier operating system. The shield of DSUC TBM is designed to cone type with a extremely total length, thus can reduce the friction between shield and rock, so to avoid block accident in fault area. The DSUC TBM has the characteristics of high thrust and torque capacity, it can cope basically with all kind of rock formations and rock strength.
