Study and Application of Sustained, Proportional and Speedy (SPS) Construction Method for TBM Tunnel

Abstract:

The construction technology for TBM tunnel has been widely popularized in China. There are 40 sets of TBM working at the same time, and nearly 20 enterprises own the achievement of TBM construction. The number of tunnels constructed by TBMs has been expanded, but overall TBM construction level has not been promoted in an allround way. The construction speed of TBM is very different and the imbalance has become a significant problem; which leads to the time delay, cost increase and huge economic and social loss. Therefore, the 20 years of TBM construction practice is introduced, the sustained, proportional and speedy (SPS) construction method has been explored and implemented; depending on the "three bases" and "ten measures", the sustained, proportional and speedy TBM construction under the suitable geological conditions can be realized; and under the bad geological conditions, the function and performance of the equipment and the construction technology should be improved, so as to improve the engineering adaptability of TBM, and promote the scientific development and sustainable development of TBM construction technology.
