Mechanized Construction Technology for Large Crosssection Longchang Highway Tunnel in Grade Ⅳ Surrounding Rock

Abstract: The construction of highway tunnels in China is characterized by manual operation, low mechanization degree, long process cycle time, slow construction progress and high safety risk. Hence, large crosssection construction method is proposed for Longchang Tunnel on GuiyangHuangping Expressway based on Chinese standards and the design concept of NATM in Europe. The "9+N" equipments, i.e. tripleboom rock drilling jumbo, arch anchor installation trolley, etc. + multifunctional geological drilling machine and automatic grouting machine, etc.KG-*3, and corresponding construction technologies are adopted to carry out seamless tunnel construction. The results show that "9+N"construction technology recommended can reduce the labor consumption and impact on surrounding environment, improve the mechanization degree and construction efficiency, and guarantee the construction safety and quality.
