Abstract: Intelligent tunnel construction is a new mode formed by an indepth integration of new generation of information technology, modern tunnel construction technology, and intelligent equipment. It is also the development direction of construction technology of mountain tunnel in China. In this study, a new intelligent construction mode suitable for highspeed railway tunnels in China is explored to adapt to the development trend of the industry. The intelligent tunnel construction technology is systematically studied based on the achievements in mechanized and digital tunnel construction of ZhengzhouWanzhou highspeed railway. The machine learning methods, database technology, and robot automatic control technology, and Internet of Things (IoT) technology are comprehensively utilized to establish four key technical components, including intelligent classification of rock masses, intelligent matching and optimization of design parameters, intelligent construction of excavation and support, and intelligent construction collaborative management platform. Finally, the intelligent construction technology system is formed and verified through the field application of highspeed railway tunnels.
