Abstract:
Due to the developed karsts, large water inflow rate, frequent crushed zones, as well as coal seams and gases in the ground through which Fangdoushan tunnel passes, the geological condition of the tunnel is very complex. During tunnel construction, different construct schemes and measures will be taken in different geological sections. Therefore, advance geological forecasting plays a very important role in tunnel construction. This article expatiates on the necessity of performing advance geological forecasting in the construction of Fangdoushan tunnel, describes the prediction measures and the working principles of the adopted geological forecast systems and provides some issues to which more attention should be paid during geological forecasting.
