Abstract:

The article presents the functions, features, advantages and application cases of tunnel boring machines in construction of long tunnels, indicating that tunnel boring machines have made great contributions to the progress of the tunneling technology. The article also presents the splendid future of tunnel boring machines in China. The article can provide some guidance for the promotion of tunnel boring machines in China.
