Abstract:
Cost claim is one of the most important aspects and the final object of contract claim. By means of cost claim, the contractors can protect their legal rights and interests and can claim their losses. The paper analyzes some basic principles for the calculation of the cost claims, i.e., actual loss principle, contract principle, rationality principle and favorableness principle. Regarding these principles, the paper also recommends two calculation methods for the cost claims, i.e., total cost method and subentry method. The paper can be used as reference for contractors during their cost claims.
