Abstract:

On basis of construction of several typical closelyspaced twin tube tunnels, the authors summarize the experience in the design and construction of closelyspaced tunnels, including the selection of the proper net spacing thickness, advance reinforcement, excavation methods, crosssection design, spacing column consolidation and reinforcement parameters. Furthermore, the authors make a complete summary and some recommendations on the critical aspects of construction of closelyspaced tunnels.
