Abstract:

The equipment configuration of shield machines is one of the important factors that dominate the results, progress and investment of the works. For the construction of the running tunnels of Chengdu Metro in sandy cobble ground, the shield machine is required to have the capability of performing longdistance boring in sandy cobble ground, crushing the large boulders and cobbles and prevention and control of mud bursting. In the paper, the parameters of the basic equipment of a muddingtype EPB shield machine is presented, the functions of the equipment are analyzed and the thrust force parameters are verified.
