Abstract:
The application of noncoverweight consolidation grouting in large scale underground caverns located in thin, steepinclined limestone containing soft shale is studied in this paper. The purpose of the study is to determine the feasibility of consolidation geouting, the reasonable grouting pressure, the reasonable grout mixing proportion and the effects of noncoverweight consolidation grouting in improving the stability of the high side walls of underground caverns. The study results achieved break the record of the field. The study results can provide significant references for the design and construction of similar projects in the future.
Key words: thin and steep dip limestone containing soft shale, high side wall, noncoverweight consolidation grouting, surrounding rock stability, underground plant of Pengshui Hydropower Station
