Abstract:

The limits on air quality specified in the relevant standards are not applicable to cases in high altitude and low atmospheric pressure areas, where Guanjiao tunnel is located. The authors analyze the air quality in the working area of Guanjiao tunnel and illustrates the difference between the physical characteristics of the air environment in high altitude and low atmospheric pressure areas and those in normal areas. The authors finally make some suggestions on the supplement and modification of the present standards, which include that ational limits on the concentrations of different gases in the air should be determined according to the altitude and the oxygen concentration must not be lower than 244g/m3.
