Some Issues on Design of Underground Magnetic Levitation

Abstract:

The causations for developing underground magnetic levitation are discussed by analyzing the problems of land security, environmental security, energy security and public safety problems caused by traffic accidents, which are brought by the rapid urbanization. The underground magnetic levitation system ought to be taken into account for the solution of incity and intercity transportation problems in future. In this system, the incity passenger transportation and freight transportation can be realized by lowmedium speed underground magnetic levitation system, while the intercity transportation should be realized by the highspeed system, which is more green and more lowcarbon. In the description of this new system, the compositions of underground magnetic levitation and underground logistic system are introduced in detail, the advantages in the underground magnetic levitation system, such as land conservation, environmentfriendly, high speed and large capacity, are also presented. Apart from these, some important results of experimental researches are provided, which mainly include the determination of vacuum pressure, design of crosssection, aerodynamics test model, machines and electric power equipment research, life support system and construction cost assessment.
