Abstract:
The feasibility to build largescale watersupplying tunnels by longdistance shield tunneling method is discussed, the problems, such as the high internal water pressure and the water leakage, encountered in the design of the longdistance watersupplying tunnel bored by shield machines are solved and optimization recommendations are made to the design of the tunnels, with the design of Qingcaosha Watersupplying Tunnel in Shanghai as an example. The paper can provide more rational and practical references for the design of other longdistance watersupplying tunnels bored by shield machines in the future.
