Tunnel Deformation and Lining Anomalies Induced by Deepseated Gravitational Slope Deformation

Abstract

Abstract: Diagnosing the causes accounted for lining anomalies of a tunnel, and accordingly taking the right measures to repair or reinforce the lining structure, is essential for the maintenance of operational tunnels. The characteristics of tunnel deformation, lining anomalies and associated development are summarized and the difference of lining anomalies caused by various mechanisms are discussed in detail, with tunnel deformation and lining anomalies induced by deepseated gravitational slope deformation of a tunnel as an example. Subsequent investigation items and associated methodologies are also commented. The paper can provide fourther causes diagnosing and safety estimation of similar anomalies of tunnel.
