Abstract: The tunnel construction is usually situated under the ground or behind the mountain, it is a difficult and complex construction. Collecting the environment information around the tunnel is the base treatment for construction. The surrounding environment includes vegetation cover, geologyl and topography condition, which may affect the stability of the tunnel. In this study, the satellite imagery and its derived data are employed to evaluate the influence of costal change and vegetation cover change of tunnel construction. The result shows that the costal line erosion may affect 7 highway partition of construction, and the vegetation change may be affected by groundwater and spring in recent 10 years.

Key words: highway tunnel, vegetation index, costal line change
