Abstract: The normal supporting principle of rockbolt is improving the balance of stresses of surrounding rock mass. The supporting principle of rockbolt under special construction situation is reinforcing the surrounding rock mass. The balance improving effect is larger than the reinforcing effect on surrounding rock mass by means of comparing the basic mechanical parameters of rock before and after rockbolt using. The distribution of rock stress is the basis of design and installation of rockbolt.
