Case Study on Blasting Demolition of Waterstopping Wall of Xiangshan Tunnel

Abstract: The thicknesses of the concrete waterstopping wall and antishearing wall of Xiangshan tunnel are 7 m and 5 m respectively. Countermeasures, including reserving protection layer, drilling vibrationreducing hole, nonblasting pilot heading, strict control of the charging quantity of each interval and rational blasting parameter design, are taken in order to demolish the waterstopping wall and the antishearing wall and to ensure the safety of the lining. In the end, good result has been achieved.
