Abstract:

In the early stage of shield tunnel design, a lot of calculation must be done according to different situations. Beamspring model is often used for the calculations, but it needs the help of FEM software and the process is time consuming. In order to make the calculation of shield tunnel segments easier, the authors develop a calculation plugin based on the script language Python embedded in Abaqus. The engineering practice proves that the calculation plugin development is efficient and can make the calculation process parameterized and automatic.
