Abstract:

The shieldbored tunnel from Xiangyanglu Station to Nansihuan Station of line 2 of Zhengzhou Metro crosses underneath the trunk canal of Southtonorth Water Transfer Project. The shield tunneling crossing underneath the trunk canal is simulated by means of Midas/GTS finite element program. Conclusions drawn are as follows: 1) If the spacing between the left Metro tunnel tube and the right Metro tunnel tube is more than 2d (d=tunnel diameter), the overlapping influence of the construction of the twin tunnel tubes on the trunk canal can be effectively reduced; 2) When there is no water in the trunk canal, the settlement requirements can be met when the overburden of the tunnel is 8 m; When there is water in the trunk canal, the overburden of the tunnel is proposed to be 12 m. 
