Abstract:

Rock cutting technology is the core of the fullface tunnel boring machine (TBM) technology, however, researches on the rock cutting technology of TBM in China is relatively weak. A test bench with which the process of rock cutting of TBM can be simulated accurately in the laboratory is needed so as to master the rock cutting technology of TBM. In the paper, the development of a TBM boring test bench is presented and the structure, working principle, technical parameters, hydraulic system and monitoring system of the test bench are described. The test bench developed is a key test equipment to study on the rock cutting technology and cutter manufacture technology of TBM.
