Abstract:

A study on producing synchronous grouting materials using mucks collected in shield tunneling in different strata is carried out, so as to find new ways for the effective recycling of mucks produced in shield tunneling. The influence of the clay content and plasticity index of the mucks on the performance, mechanical properties and water dispersion resistance of the synchronous grouting materials produced is studied. The result shows that the fluidity, stability, mechanical properties and water dispersion resistance of the synchronous grouting materials produced using mucks with 10%~30% clay content and 40%~70% sand content meet the design requirements. For mucks with their clay and sand content outside the abovementioned range, correction methods are proposed. Synchronous grouting materials produced using mucks collected in shield tunneling are trialed in the construction of Wuhan Metro and good results are achieved, with the accuracy of the axial line of shield driving controlled within 5 cm, and the uplifting of segment lining and the ground settlement being less than 3 cm.
