Construction Survey of Tanba No. 4 Spiral Tunnel on  XiaoheAnkang Highway

Abstract:

The normal tunnel survey methods and Leica total stations are not suitable for the survey of the crosssection of spiral tunnels. The survey items and geometrical principle of spiral tunnels are analyzed, and nonprism survey distance combined with multifunctional calculation programming and intunnel survey control methods is used to solve the survey problem and to guarantee the breakthrough precision of the spiral tunnel. In the end, the problems have been successfully solved and the survey of Tanba No. 4 tunnel has been successfully completed by using the mentioned technology. Conclusions drawn are as follows: 1) Good intunnel control survey design of the spiral tunnel is a prerequisite for the successful breakthrough of the tunnel; 2) The nonprism survey distance of the total station combined with multifunctional calculation programming is the best way to set out the crosssection of the spiral tunnel. 
