Abstract:
It is difficult to predict the cutting tool wearing during TBM and shield tunneling. If the serious wearing of some cutting tools is not found and these worn cutting tools are not timely replaced, the service life of the full dress of the cutting tools and the cutter head may be affected, which may cause serious adverse effect on the construction schedule and the construction cost of the project. In the paper, study is made on a new rock abrasiveness test method, which is based on rockmachine combination, so as to effectively predict the wearing of the cutting tools. The principle, equipment and operation method of the test are presented and the test results are analyzed. The test method is used for a project of Guangzhou Metro, and the results of the rock abrasiveness tests are compared to the cutting tool wearing data measured in the field, which verifies the reliability of the test and provides rock abrasiveness indices for the tunnel boring.
