Abstract:

The characteristics and variation rules of the ground surface vibration caused by blasting in the construction of LPG storage cavern in Huangdao are studied by means of theoretical analysis and site monitoring. Conclusions drawn are as follows: 1) The result of the fitting of the vibration velocity of the ground surface ahead of the excavation face by means of Sadaovsk formula has good dependency, while that behind the excavation face has poor dependency; 2) Angle effect exists in the blasting, i.e., regarding the fitting of the vibration velocity of the ground surface behind the excavation face, the monitoring data have good dependency when the angle between the blasting source distance and the projection of the excavation face on the horizontal plane ranges from 0° to 33°, and the monitoring data have poor dependency when the angle between the blasting source distance and the projection of the excavation face on the horizontal plane is larger than 33°; 3) Compared to the section ahead of the excavation face, the section behind the excavation face has amplification effect to the ground surface vibration velocity; as the projection of the blasting source distance on the horizontal plane becomes nearly perpendicular to the excavation face, the amplification effect becomes more obvious. 
