Abstract:

At present, the construction of utility tunnels is mainly concentrated in big cities and abovelevel cities in China; the development of the utility tunnels in small and medium cities is slow and relative hysteretic due to limited conditions; and there is not much construction experience of utility tunnels in small and medium cities. As a result, the construction scale and location of the utility tunnels in small and medium cities are investigated and analyzed. The analytical results show that: 1) The utility tunnels in small and medium cities are mainly located in arterial roads and newlydeveloped areas. 2) The length of utility tunnel of nonpilot cities was basically within 20 km in medium cities and 10 km in small cities in 2016 respectively; the average length of utility tunnel in pilot cities was more than 20 km in 2016.
