Research on Construction Technologies for TBM Continuous Boring through Limestone Section of Bid Section No.4 of Songhua River Water Conveyance Project

Abstract:

The open TBM bores through limestone section of 7 km long of Bid Section No. 4 of Songhua River Water Conveyance Project. The advanced geological prediction system and lining system of TBM are designed based on characteristics, i.e. long distance, large crosssection, rapid boring and strengthened support of the project. And then, corresponding construction technologies and countermeasures are decided for bad geological conditions. The TBM has successfully bored through the limestone section; the construction cost has been reduced and the construction schedule has been shortened by relevant design, construction technologies and countermeasures adopted. 
