Abstract:

Owing to the cables of existing foundation pit intruding into metro station foundation pit, partial underground diaphragm wall of metro station foundation pit is difficult to construct. Hence, the design difficulties of removing the cables of existing foundation pit is analyzed, and 3 schemes for existing foundation pit, i.e. soil backfilling in pit, adding inner support and sloping to metro station foundation pit, are compared and selected. The scheme of sloping to metro station foundation pit with good economic benefits and feasibility is chosen. The detail of the scheme chosen is soil backfilling at the bottom of existing foundation pit after sloping, removing cables orderly, and adjusting the inner support of metro station foundation pit. The deformation of the foundation pit and retaining structure after cables removing is numerically simulated by software PLAXIS and verified by site monitoring data. The study results show that the site monitoring data coincide with the simulation results, and the scheme selected is rational and feasible.
