Selection of Technology for Metro Tunnel Construction

Abstract:

The construction technology for metro tunnel should be appropriately selected to avoid problems such as surface settlement, building tilt and groundwater level drop. The common construction technology of metro tunnel in China, mining method, is investigated and analyzed, and also the Casting Support Tunneling System using shield (hereinafter referred to as SENS) that based on the New Austrian Method and the Extruded Concrete Lining (hereinafter referred to as ECL) in Japan is introduced. Based on the analysis of the suitable for formation, floor occupation, burying depth, lining waterproof, land subsidence, traffic impact, underground pipelines impact, construction noise, construction risk, construction progress and construction cost of the mining method, shield method and SENS, a result is shown that the SENS has comprehensive advantage in the construction progress, construction cost, lining quality and surface subsidence control. The SENS is worth studying and popularizing.
