Parameters Control Method for Thrust System of Super-large Diameter Shield Boring in Soft Soil Layer of Sea Area: a Case Study o f Shantou Bay Tunnel Project

Abstract:

The attitude of the super-large diameter slurry shield should meet the construction requirements when tunneling in soft soil layer of sea area, the force on the pipe segment structure should be improved, and the broken corner and damage of the pipe segment should be reduced. Hence, the force balance equation of main shield used in Shantou Bay Tunnel project is established. The variation laws of pressure and thrust in each zone are learned under the condition that the total thrust is certain, and the force and variation of the pipe segment structure under different output thrusts are analyzed. Finally, a parameter control method for the thrust system is put forward. The applicable results of the recommended method show that the control range and optimal scheme of the partitioned thrust can be determined when the total thrust is around 50 000 kN.
