Abstract: The conflicts among illuminating system energy saving and driving safety, operations management are prominent in highway tunnel. Therefore, through theoretical analysis and practical test, someitems such as lightadjusted principle, structure and error cause of brightness dection in terms of the tunnel illuminating system are analyzed. Then an adjustable brightness detector is designed, and the steps for calibration and brightness detection are presented. Therefore, the problem about brightness detection in highway tunnel is solved. By adopting fuzzy neural network algorithms, the practical application proves that the brightness can meet the requirement of actual operation, and based on the premise, the energy saving effect is good.
