Design and Experimental Study of Sand and Dust Removal Equipment in Changshoushan Tunnel

Abstract: Many diseases exist in Changshoushan tunnel in Lanzhou, which includes sand stacking and serious dust and air pollution. Accordingly, the existing equipments for sand and dust removal and relevant characteristics in China and other countries are analyzed, so as to provide mechanized solutions for Changshoushan tunnel. The Guo Tie NX70 flat car is taken as a case study, and a dust removal equipment is equipped on it. The equipment includes a dust removal system, fan system, and working devices. A threelevel dust removal system integrating gravity dust collector, multipipe cyclone dust collector, and filter cylinder dust collector is adopted. Targeted fan system is designed according to dust removal requirement, and various working devices are matched according to sand distributions. The prototype is trialproduced and applied to the disease treatment experiment in Changshoushan tunnel. The test results show that the equipment can effectively deal with the diseases of Changshoushan tunnel, improve the work efficiency, and reduce the cost of dust removal, providing references for similar projects in the future.
